The Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VC VXD G2 Sony E-Mount is a versatile 70-180mm zoom lens for, among others, portraits & weddings and wildlife & sports footage. This G2 version is the successor to the popular Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VC VXD. It remains one of the most compact and lightest models in its class, yet offers a completely revamped optical design. The lens comprises 20 glass elements divided into 15 groups. Among others, the 3 aspherical and 4 Low Dispersion (LD) elements ensure superlative performance across the entire zoom range. The lens boasts a constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 for great depth of field and beautiful bokeh. The 9 aperture blades create a near-perfect round aperture.

With this lens that perfect shot will never again elude you. The autofocus is ultra-fast and accurate thanks to the VXD4 linear motor focusing mechanism. Tamron's VC5 mechanism effectively suppresses camera shake, ensuring sharp results during telephoto, low-light and close-up shots. The autofocus now focuses as early as 30cm (at 70mm), something that was only manually possible with the first model. The working distance on this Tamron 70-180mm G2 is a miniscule 12cm, and with a magnification ratio of 1:2.6, this zoom lens also lets you take amazing (macro) nature footage.

The lens features a professional, durable body. It has a moisture-resistant design and a nifty zoom lock. This gives the lens added durability and prevents unnecessary slippage in your bag, for example.

The Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VC VXD G2 is compatible with Tamron Lens Utility software. With this you can adjust lens settings, assign camera body functions and update firmware as and when needed.
