The Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 II is an addition to the popular LUMIX S series. The system camera has incredible photo and video performance in an attractive, compact design. The S5 II has a 24 megapixel 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor that lets in a lot of light and delivers razor-sharp images. The sensor combined with the advanced image processor ensures excellent image quality for both photo and video recordings.

Reliable autofocus and stabilisation

The renewed image sensor supports, for the first time in the LUMIX line, hybrid phase-detection autofocus. The hybrid autofocus system combines phase detection with contrast detection for fast and reliable focus. The new system can easily recognise subjects, even in challenging conditions such as when there is little light. Once the focus is locked, it keeps tracking the subject across the screen. Continuous autofocus is also available when you zoom in, as well as AF micro adjustments.

The LUMIX S5 II has a considerably improved image stabilisation so that you also take stable, strong shots handheld. Active image stabilisation is very useful in challenging conditions such as when using a telephoto lens or when filming while walking. The active image stabilisation also delivers very stable videos by optimising horizontal, vertical and rotation correction.

Exceptional video performance

The system camera has exceptional video performance comparable to the LUMIX S1H. This lets you film in 4:2:0 10-bit 6K (3:2) and 5.9K (16:9) at 30fps and 4:2:2 C4K/4K at 60fps. You easily record in a High Frame Rate at up to 120fps and in slow motion at up to 180fps. You can use various colour profiles such as 14+ stop V-Log and V-Gamut. The support of a REAL TIME LUT function lets you upload colour-correction LUTs to an SD card and add them directly on the camera instead of during post-production. For professional videographers, functions such as Waveform Monitor, Vector Scope and Zebra Pattern have been added. Features such as System Frequency (24.00Hz) and Synchro Scan also make this camera suitable for professional use.

Excellent photos with minimal workflow

The camera has various options that give you excellent photos with minimal workflow. Functions such as AWB lock, MF assist and a new Live Crop function ensure a very refined shooting experience. An HDMI type-A and USB 3.2 gen 2 connection provide extensive connectivity options. Thanks to WiFi 5GHz you can also connect wirelessly, fast and stably, to smartphones and tablets. Dual UHS-II memory card slots ensure that you always have enough space.

The Panasonic LUMIX S 40mm f/2.0 is a compact and fast prime lens for cameras with L-Mount. With a focal length of 40mm this lens offers a natural angle of view that is close to the human field of view. This makes it a versatile choice for everyday photography, street photography, portraits and landscapes.

The large maximum aperture of f/2.0 helps you to work with shorter shutter speeds even in lower light, without raising the ISO unnecessarily. In addition, this aperture provides a soft and beautiful background blur, so your subject stands out better from the background.

The lens is designed to be easy to take along. With a length of approximately 4.1 cm and a weight of approximately 144 grams, your gear stays compact and light. The lens also has the same 62mm filter size as the LUMIX S 18-40mm, which is practical if you want to share accessories.
