Canon EOS R50 V body

The Canon EOS R50 V is a compact video camera with interchangeable lens. This camera is specifically aimed at video and features the familiar RF mount, giving you an enormous choice of available lenses for your video productions.

Shoot 4K videos of up to 2 hours in length. These recordings are oversampled from 6K — meaning footage is captured in 6K and then downscaled to a resolution of 4K at 30 frames per second. The advantage of this is that you benefit from better image quality with more detail. Of course, you can also record in slow motion at 4K 60p or Full HD 120p.

This camera includes technical settings that take your video productions to the next level. These include Canon Log 3 for better colour grading, aspect markers to frame your shots, and timecode to synchronise your recordings. To monitor exposure and focus while filming, there are tools such as false colour, zebra displays and focus peaking.

For the flexible content creator, it's important that the camera is easy to use — and the R50 V has been designed with exactly that in mind. The camera features a comfortable grip that sits nicely in the hand. With its focus on video, the camera has a 'video first' mode dial. Although everything revolves around video, a dedicated button has been reserved for those who also want to take photos. There's a record button on the front so you can start filming quickly. The camera also features a vertical tripod socket for portrait-orientation shooting. With microphone and headphone connections, you're guaranteed excellent audio recording. The camera is equipped with a 24.2 MP APS-C sensor and, thanks to Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, subjects are detected with ease.

Camera control has also been carefully considered. A power zoom lever control is included, allowing you to zoom in and out smoothly without having to manually rotate the lens. The camera is connected to the strap using an Anchor Link, which allows for quick and easy removal of the strap from the camera.
