This Tamron tripod gondola is designed for use with the Tamron 100-400mm lens. The tripod gondola provides support for your lens when using your camera on a tripod. It provides better weight distribution and therefore less stress on the lens mount.

The Tamron 100-400mm F4.5-6.3 Di VC USD Tripod Collar is a ring that supports your Tamron 100-400mm Di VC USD lens when your camera and lens are mounted on a tripod. The center of gravity of the lens is moved by the tripod collar. As a result, the weight of the lens is better distributed and this ensures that the lens mount of the camera is less heavily loaded. Especially with larger and heavier lenses, the use of a tripod collar is advisable.
