Sigma 35mm f/1.4 ART DG HSM Canon EF
The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 ART DG HSM is a wide-angle lens with a large maximum aperture of f/1.4. The lens is therefore extremely fast, which gives a wide-angle lens pleasant blur in the foreground and background. Thanks to the large full opening of f/1.4, you can take unique photos of all kinds of subjects in the most varied conditions, for example outdoors in the evening or portraits indoors. Thanks to an ultra-modern design and advanced production techniques, Sigma has pushed the performance of this lens to unprecedented heights.
Art series The Art series is designed with an emphasis on the highest optical performance and maximum expressive power. Thanks to the strong emphasis on artistic qualities, lenses from the Art series meet the expectations of photographers who value a creative and dramatic rendering over compactness and versatility. Besides landscapes, portraits, still lifes, close-ups and casual snapshots, these lenses are extremely well suited to the kind of photography that awakens the artist in the photographer. They are ideal for studio photography, but offer just as much expressive power for architectural photography, photographing the starry sky, underwater shots and many other subjects.
This lens has an optical design of 13 elements in 12 groups, including FLD elements and SLD elements. This corrects various types of aberration thanks to optimal centering. The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG delivers ultra-high image quality across the entire focusing range. Thanks to the use of aspherical elements in specific places, astigmatism and field curvature are also corrected to the maximum. The result is a superior and optimal resolving power all the way to the edge of the image.
The Sigma 35mm 1:1.4 DG HSM has an exceptional expressive power thanks to its high light-gathering speed of f/1.4. In wide-angle photography, the large f/1.4 aperture provides excellent brightness and beautiful rendering of the out-of-focus areas (bokeh). Correction of coma aberration results in less scattering around points of light at the edge of the image. This is useful when photographing the night sky and lit scenes. It also provides an attractive blur in the parts of the subject that are not in focus. The use of an aspherical front lens provides well-defined angles of view and corrected distortion. The rounded aperture opening provides an attractive rendering of the out-of-focus areas.
The Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) focuses quickly and silently. Manual correction of the focus is always possible by turning the focus ring (full-time manual focus). Thanks to an improved AF algorithm, focusing is smoother.
This lens has a metal mount that is extremely precise and durable. The surface has undergone a special treatment to make it stronger and more wear-resistant, giving the mount an exceptionally long service life.
