Panasonic AU-EVA1 5.7K Super 35mm Filmcamera OUTLET
The Panasonic AU-EVA1 is a high-end yet flexible cinema camera featuring a newly designed 5.7K Super 35mm sensor that lets you create cinema-quality images. The AU-EVA1 is compact and lightweight, which makes it ideal for handheld shooting, but also for documentaries, commercials and music videos. Thanks to the higher native resolution of this cinema camera, downsampling to 4K, UHD, 2K and even 720p delivers a higher image resolution. The improved color information also results in a finer and more accurate final image. Panasonic's acclaimed Dual Native ISO technology is also built into the sensor. Dual Native ISO uses a process that reads out the sensor in a different way, so more information is drawn from the sensor without any loss of image quality. This lets you raise the sensitivity easily while maintaining a high signal-to-noise ratio. Just like the cameras in the VariCam series, the EVA1 offers V-Log/V-Gamut rendering, which provides a high dynamic range and a wide color gamut. The log curve of V-Log is reminiscent of negative film, and V-Gamut delivers a color gamut that is even larger than film. The EVA1 also adopts the widely praised colorimetry of the VariCam series.
The AU-EVA1 weighs just 1.2 kilos (body), has compact dimensions and a detachable handle, which makes it suitable for handheld shooting. The cinema camera can also be mounted on a drone, stabilizer or jib, and several mounting points have been added. The camera can record in various formats and compression ratios and offers up to 10-bit 422, even in 4K. The EVA1 has an EF mount, so filmmakers can use the wide range of EF lenses. Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) is used to compensate for camera shake and movement. Handheld footage and shots with shoulder support, for example for documentaries or action scenes, are stabilized this way. Behind the lens mount there is an integrated ND filter wheel with 2, 4 and 6 stops for precise control of the shutter speed. The IR Cut filter can also be moved away from the sensor at the push of a button. This control over infrared makes unique photo effects and night shots possible.
As a professional video production tool, the EVA1 offers dual balanced XLR audio inputs and 4K-capable video output via both HDMI and SDI. In a future firmware upgrade, the EVA1 will enable 5.7K RAW output to third-party recorders.
