Nikon AF-S 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR
The Nikon AF-S 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR is a super-telephoto lens with a fixed focal length of 500mm. The lens is exceptionally compact with superior optical performance and functionality. The Nikon AF-S 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR is compatible with Nikon FX-format DSLR cameras.
The lens is easy to take out and about, weighing just 1,460 grams, so you can shoot handheld without any trouble. The light weight is made possible by the use of a PF (Phase Fresnel) lens element, which has also significantly reduced its size. In addition to one PF lens element, the lens features three ED lens elements, resulting in exceptionally sharp and detailed images. PF flare (diffraction) is effectively reduced, as are ghosting and lens flare, thanks to the applied Nano Crystal Coat. Autofocus speed has been increased by reducing the weight of the lens elements in the focusing group.
The 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR also features a VR (image stabilisation) mechanism to minimise camera shake. This allows you to shoot at shutter speeds up to 4.0 stops longer. In addition, a SPORT VR mode is available, which — thanks to image stabilisation in the viewfinder — is particularly effective when photographing fast-moving subjects such as wild birds, sporting events, and when recording video. By using the FTZ mount adapter, this lens can also be used with the Nikon Z6 and Z7 mirrorless cameras.
