The Kowa BD III 50-10 XD (10x50) is a pair of binoculars from the BD III-XD series with a 50mm objective lens. This makes them suitable for watching birds, wildlife and landscapes in low light, such as early in the morning or late in the evening.

The XD lenses made of fluorite-rich ED glass reduce chromatic aberration, for a sharp image with good contrast and natural colours. The phase-corrected prisms have a C3 coating for extra brightness and contrast.

The lightweight magnesium housing has a protective rubber armour. Kowa's KR lens coating repels water, dust and dirt from the lens surface. The binoculars are waterproof and nitrogen-filled, so the lenses do not fog up on the inside when the temperature changes.
