Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder 12G

With the Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder 12G you record video from 12G-SDI and HDMI to your Thunderbolt laptop or desktop. The compact device captures footage in SD, HD and Ultra HD up to 2160p60, in 10-bit broadcast quality.

The Recorder 12G is suitable for livestreaming with software such as OBS, vMix and Wirecast. You also archive recordings from older broadcast decks to your video software or to the included Media Express software. Via the SDI loop output you pass the incoming signal on to another device at the same time.

The multi-rate 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 connections support all SD, HD, 2K, Ultra HD and 4K standards up to 2160p60. You switch the SDI connection between the different standards, and via a software update you add new television standards later.

The device works via a single Thunderbolt 4 cable, which also supplies the power. Because the UltraStudio Mini Recorder 12G uses the DeckLink API, it works with commonly used video software such as DaVinci Resolve. The included software comprises, among others, Media Express and Disk Speed Test. Please note that the HDMI input cannot record copy-protected sources.
