Amaran Cam - Charcoal
The Amaran Cam is a webcam for livestreamers and content creators who want to look good on camera without a lot of setup. It films in 4K at 60 frames per second, with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and an f/1.68 aperture. That gives you a clean image even in low light.
What makes it special is Auto Lighting. With the amaran Desktop app, the camera reads the exposure on your face and automatically adjusts connected amaran lights, so you are ready to start in ten seconds. If you work with two lights, you choose the Even, Defined or Bold look. This works via Bluetooth with compatible amaran lights, at launch with up to two at a time; you can see which lights are suitable in the amaran app.
With the 2x lossless zoom you go from a wide 24 mm view to a close-up at 50 mm (full-frame equivalent) while the image stays in 4K. The autofocus locks onto a new subject in under a quarter of a second, so even when you hold a product up to the camera, it stays sharp. It can focus from as close as 18 centimetres.
Turn the camera a quarter turn and it automatically switches to vertical 9:16 video, up to 4K60 and without cropping. You can connect up to four Amaran Cams at once for more camera angles, and thanks to active cooling it records for more than 72 hours in a row in 4K60.
The camera works straight away when you connect it to your PC or Mac, in programs such as OBS Studio, Streamlabs, Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. In the amaran Desktop app you fine-tune the camera and use the virtual camera for effects such as green screen, beauty and filters. Connect it directly to a USB 3.0 port; amaran advises against an unpowered USB hub. For 4K60, amaran recommends at least a Mac with an M1 chip or a PC with a 10th generation Intel Core i5 and 8 GB RAM. With the magnetic mount you place the camera on your monitor, or on a tripod via the 1/4-20 thread.
